Wow, I'm gone for one day and what do you guys do? You guys go gone and crashed the web site !
And since Hentai posted the last mchat message, I assume he's the one who broke it .

Actually, I needed to repair two table: phpbb_sessions and phpbb_mchat. Everything else was fine. So guess what caused the web site to crash? Yup, the cruddy chatbox lol.

As soon as I ed the chatblox, it didn't post up, so I thought I'd refresh and then BAM, forum was bloken!

Not my fault my tentatongue is so powerful!

Yeah may not be a bad idea to purge that table every so often, and of course backing up every once in a while is good too.

ok, i backed up and then purged the chatbox. i have a feeling that since mchat stores the chat text as binary blobs in the database, these binary blobs are what were causing marvin's virus warnings. not sure but let me know if you guys are still getting virus warnings.

I've still never got a virus warning yet. So must be some other wierd crap or false positives going on.

But yeah, chatbox archive must be taking a strain on the forum due to the amount of crap in there I guess.

actually, there were roughly 30,000+ chat posts, about the same number of forum posts we have. php and mysql should be able to manhandle that easy. we're still considered a "small" forum .
