So I was trying to extract models from Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. I tried to follow the tutorial but upon importing the model .smc file the texture doesn't show up immediately. It seems that the UV mapping exists, but the texture image was not assigned to the material at all. Did I do something wrong or is the tutorial outdated?
(I can assign the texture image later, but yeah, it's still strange.)

Like this:

There is also something like 7456_skel_00.smc, which supposed contains bones and the rigs, but I can't seem to get the rig, so the bones are there but the model is unrigged.

Not sure about the material problem, never really needed a fix for that myself because I apply them myself.
For the bones thing though, yes the skel file imports the bones, the weights are already on the model. You need to parent the armature to the mesh and select vertex groups on the armature modifier for the model to move along with the bones.

the tutorial in the folder shows how autotexture works for dw games. some dw games use special mats though so texturing isn't always automatic.

It should. I have always compiled it in C++ using Win32 > Release mode. I just checked it right now too. It's a Win32 program.
