A simple no-screencap tutorial for obtaining Sonic 2006 files, if someone's interested in that stuff.
Tools needed:
-Sonic 2006 360 version
-3DSMax
-QuickBMS
-the ARC script: http://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/bms ... ic2006.bms
-Sonic Next-Gen Converter: http://www.spriters-resource.com/commun ... ?tid=16589
Steps:
-Extract the files through Noesis
-Most of the models are located in the "win32" folder in the .arc format
-Before opening the QuickBMS, you need to open the Notepad, and paste the script I gave you earlier! Then save it as a regular .txt file, it'll work.
-Open QuickBMS and run the ARC script
-Find the models you want to convert
-Convert them (you can select multiple files at once)
-Now, you will get a bunch of .xno files.
-Open the Next-Gen converter, and select the .xno files you want to convert (you can select multiple files at once)
-The converter will generate a 3DSMax script.
-Open the 3DSMax, go to MAXScript->Run Script
-Find the script and open it
-Wait for the model to load. If it's a character model, it won't take a while, but scenery takes longer and it may crash your 3DSMax. My advice would be to compile smaller amounts of .xno files and convert them individually.
-They have no bones, so convert them as .obj.
-WARNING! Human models like Elise and Robotnik have fucked up meshes and need heavy fixing. I haven't seen other human models, but I assume they are also messed up.
Other models are perfectly fine, tho.
And do whatever you want with them!
