Bones from DoA5 are extractable. Format is relative. In the one DLC file for Hitomi, you were close marvin... there are no head bones, but maybe half the number of breast bones lol. So I guess this means they use morphs for facial animation?

That's definitely good news though, at least porters got part of the work cut out for them. If you look at some cut scenes most of the characters are pretty expressionless, so maybe that explains it. Wish Team Ninja added facial bones though as I wanted to try my hand at porting at least a character, but it's better than rigging from scratch. Anyway, good job, should make Dazzy and the others who are porting them real happy.

For now, best I can do is just create an obj file with the bone hierarchy. You will have to reconstruct, reparent, and rename manually in your modeler, but at least they are the original bones. There are joint names in another section, but they are not very useful unless you don't mind bones being named "OPT_Hand_Left_Index3_OPT_Hand_Left_Metacarpal04" lol. I'll have a tool out in a few... but don't know if it will work for all models since I only have 2 or 3 samples to work with.

LOL I'm about to leave work now with a buddy when I just realized something: I think the character heads are in separate files judging from pictures posted on Xentax earlier on, so it might still be possible to get facial/head/hair bones. I don't mind reparenting stuff, SF characters, inspite of being "perfect" for the most parts, have to have some bones reparented in order to work right in XNALara.
The other bones you mentioned might be control bones for the hands. Anyway, I'll be riding BART back home now, really excited about this! Good job BTW!
