Re: Nuances of the Fighting Genre
The Masters Estate is really just a cardboard box under a bridge while Elizabeth and his 'son' are just hired actors for show when he goes to tournaments.

And he uses his tournament winnings for his expensive rental car.
Also nice to see that the LP MK HP trick works on other characters, especially the gurls and their summer bikini costumes. Now we can finally see under Laura and R.Daz's tops. No more modding.

Re: Nuances of the Fighting Genre
Good news for the arcades, in Japan at least.
Recently announced at the Toushinsai tournament, an arcade only event, KOFIV will come to the NESiCAxLive platform whilst SFV will be the PC version run on dedicated PC stations.

Re: Nuances of the Fighting Genre
SCR 2016 has been a pretty hype and interesting tournament just now.
Not only is Xiao Hai proving that he is currently the best KOFIV player at the moment (Went through all of Top 8 in losers side and still came back), but probably even SFV as well by winning both events. He has been successful/won in many of the past tournaments within recent months as well. Not only that but the characters used are an anchoring Mai and Cammy respectively to the games.
The fact that Mai is even quite a strong character in KOFIV is .
Next you had a Chun-Li (With Morrigan and Phoenix) winning a UMvC3 tournament ! And then a Sonya Blade winning MKX.
Interesting pattern here with each game's staple female characters.

Re: Nuances of the Fighting Genre
^ Good news indeed that Japan is finally getting arcade versions of KOF XIV and SFV. From what I can remember, it was either Daigo or Tokido who said that he thought the game doesn't have as much following as SFIV because of the lack of an arcade version. The game running on dedicated PC stations is no surprise at all, Tekken 7/FR is the same deal and both are running on UE4.

Re: Nuances of the Fighting Genre
Funny thing is all the arcade hardware within the past decade especially for Taito and Sega are basically PC's, which KOFIV can still run on.
It's annoying that the arcade hardware for Tekken 7 is still tight lipped. It's easily one of the most powerful thus far since it's UE4 engine capable, but FFS, specs please Namco?

Re: Nuances of the Fighting Genre
funny thing is I know somebody from Japan who also happens to know some arcade owners (whatever's left out there) and they don't seem to know how to get the specs of the T7/FR machines. It's probably something Bamco doesn't want to divulge at this point, or maybe forever, kinda like the game's frame data.MisterHentai wrote:Funny thing is all the arcade hardware within the past decade especially for Taito and Sega are basically PC's, which KOFIV can still run on.

I hope so too, I'm pretty sure people will be interested in modding the game.ProtocolX27 wrote:as long as it means more path paving for KOFXIV coming to PC/Steam whatever, I'm all about arcade
Maybe it's like TROTTR. Would it be too much to ask for crossplay?

Re: Nuances of the Fighting Genre
I hope KOFXIV comes to PC soon and when it does, like XIII and though not perfect but still a minor improvement over the console versions, fix the damn online play!
At this point, KOFXIV's netplay is where the SFIV series was at.
