Thanks for all the input guys.

I'm actually not unfamiliar with building PC's. It was definitely fun to do, but my brother was in charge of figuring out which parts to buy, I only put the thing together... :XD:
I'm lazy now so I will probably get a pre-built one.

Hopefully you are in no rush, because with the imminent release of AMD's Threadripper CPU's and Vega GPU's in the next 1-2 months, hopefully it will kick into gear some desperate Intel and Nvidia price drops.

Majority of pre-built systems have been good for the past decade or so, but it's also dependent on the specialist places you buy from and that you know of within your own local/country area.

I pretty much keep tabs on 4 places here in the UK daily or weekly just to gauge avaliabity/prices and getting my own stuff too e.g. Overclockers UK is the UK's top place to go to and which I've been using for the past 15 years.

There are PC cases there that look like a microwave. :oh:

I don't need it immediately, but I'd like to get one before the end of the year at least. :P

Yeah if you want to save desk space going for a Micro-ATX/ITX build, that could be a great option too, especially for a simple core component build and for all-purpose use. It can save costs in some areas and only thing to really worry about is optional room for extra hard drives. :D
