Re: Sid Meier's Civilization V
May as well make it a "Sid Meier's Civilization series" thread overall.
Bought the original Civ V ages back during a sale, barely played it much since, and only recently with the Steam Sumemr sale, did I upgrade it to the GOTY Edition . Not too bothered yet with Brave New World expansion though.
But yeah, the ones I play most are the original Civ/CivNET, which came with my very first PC and ever since then, just a good classic for it's basic gameplay and sillyness (The good ol' Caveman beating Tanks etc). And of course, Civ IV: Beyond The Sword. I play this one more than I had ever touched Civ V.

Because I mainly play as China in Civ IV: Beyond The Sword (The country area has awesome natural defense borders for the majority of the early game), Catherine (Russia) generally always allies/or becomes my first Vassal betch.

China's AI is always wary tho sometimes she just denounce me for no fucking reason. maybe shes just playing hard to get.
im playing a game using Germany atm
500 BC and my coffers are nearly empty
found William from Netherlands and Gajah from Indonesia so far. i have shitload of luxuries, ivory and all but they both have nothing valuable to trade with
and barbarians spawned like rabbits from every corner... luckily when you beat them with Germany you'll get 50% chance they'll join your army

Re: Sid Meier's Civilization V
you pick a nation, and then you build a civilization to stand the test of time!
you'll start with stick and stones from 4000 B.C all the way to space age!
you'll encounter other civilization too along the way, you can triumph over them using variety of ways!
1) Conquest- Good ol' bring your army and stomp em to the ground!
2) Diplomatic victory- use politics and all to your advantage...
3) Cultural victory- if you have a very rich culture you can conquer the world with rock and roll and stuff.
4) Religion- use religion to make people follow you
... and many more i forgot
you can find out more here. its a really addicting game
