How to Show/Hide Model Parts
Hiding and Showing a Single or More Parts from a Model

LetÔÇÖs say you have a Model whether itÔÇÖs a Character or a Vehicle or an Object, but you want to Show/Hide a Single Part of it.

Open the Generic_Item.mesh.ascii.txt in the Model Folder, then look for the Name Part of the Model you want to View/Hide. For Example:
40_hat_0.5_0_0
40_+hat_0.5_0_0

The Name of the Texture Mesh Part of the Model can be anything, so open XPS then Load your Model. Go to Options and Click on Make Items Optional where you will see the right Name Part of the Model that you want to Hide where you have to find it in the .txt and put a + next to the Name.

Now Save the .txt and Open XPS, then go to Modify and Click on Load Generic_Item. Open the generic_item.mesh.ascii of the Model.

Press Alt-V to Hide the Model Part, then press V to bring back the Model Part.

Click on Save GenericItem in the Modify Tab, then Tick these Settings in the Box.
Save as Generic_Item mesh
Copy textures converted to .png
Make Generic Item
Save the Model in a New Folder

Close XPS and go to the New Model Folder, then Rename it and Delete the Old Model Folder you made.

Re-open XPS to look at your Model where you now have the Option to View/Hide the Model Part.

Viewing and Hiding Two Types of Model Parts at the Same Time

Basically the same as above, now you can just find Another Mesh Texture of a Model Part where you can put the + at the back of the Name, then in XPS you go to Options/Display Accessories/Optional Items to Show/Hide the Model Part or Both.

Making a Single Object with Parts as a Single Hidden/Viewing Model

Lets say you have a Model like Glasses for example where its in parts like Glass Rim Ears, but you donÔÇÖt want to hide every single little part. No problem, we are going to Hide/View the Whole Thing as a Single Model.

Open the Generic_Item.mesh.ascii.txt in the Model Folder, then look for the Name Part of the Model you want to Pack as a Single Hidden/Viewable Item. For Example:

First the: _+glass_
Second the: _+glass.rim_
Third the: _+glass.ears_

It all depends on the Base of the Model Object where the Parts need to Attach to.

Now Save the .txt and Open XPS, then go to Modify and Click on Load Generic_Item. Open the generic_item.mesh.ascii of the Model.

If the Object is on a Model, then go to Options/Display Accessories/Optional Items to Show/Hide the Model Part.

If its just the Single Hidden/Viewable Item, Press Alt-V to Hide the Model Part and then press V to bring back the Model Part.
