Scalebound

Post by MisterHentai »

Well now that we finally got a look at what this game actually is, it's pretty much an Action RPG with elements of Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter. :o :excited:

Still not exactly fond of the main character's design, due to similarities to "other types" that had been around for a long time and quite honestly for me, that same trying-to-be-cool-urban-street-punk attitude, mannerisms and personality is just so lame and immature? :pi:

I guess that's what happens when you get old and see how really silly it actually is?

Having your own pet dragon/beast seems like a pretty cool mechanic, though I wonder how far and what limitations there are. And boy, with 4 player co-op, that sounds like ALOT of slowdown incoming.

Yeah, like Halo 5's example, it's understandable in order to achieve the best they technically can for that game, but it's also the major loss of something that defined something fun the series had for the longest time. :(

Pretty much. I think the technical power is an excuse. The industry should know by now that the marketable sales difference between 98% fidelity and 99% is moot. They've consistently carved out more social features for service based metrics.

I'm kinda hyped for it. Never seen much of a game like it before.

Delayed to 2017.
As we enter into 2016, we want to provide you with an update on Scalebound, the upcoming Xbox One-exclusive action-RPG that lets you fight alongside a fearsome dragon named Thuban.

Development on the game is going well and weÔÇÖre really happy with how itÔÇÖs coming together. Scalebound is one of the biggest games Platinum Games has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale ÔÇô all set in a beautiful and evolving world. ItÔÇÖs the game our team has always dreamed of making.

In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned.

We know youÔÇÖre excited to see more and thank you for your patience. Scalebound is a truly special project thatÔÇÖs been several years in the making, and we are very proud and inspired by all the work our team has done so far.

We will be sharing more about our vision for Scalebound later this year and canÔÇÖt wait to give you a closer look at the world of Draconis and the incredible creatures and experiences weÔÇÖre building.

Whatever BS on either sides, at least now Platinum can focus more resources on their other projects that are showing much more potential and an actual release. :mis:

Going by their history, it's been pretty obvious that they have a better relationship with their fellow JAHPAN brethren and allowing more independent freedom as well.

A re-remaster of the first game.

Only if Sony pays a ridiculous amount for it, which will never happen.
