OK, run this. Same thing.
However it will return a different error message.

Failed to rename IDX file. GetLastError() code is 0x???????.

What is the error code?

Hey guys. I'm piddling with the strange skeleton system that they use. All the adjusters appear to be connected to one bone, located near the root. To test some things I need to be able to select bad points in Pose mode (as shown here in this picture). However, as soon as I go into Edit Mode to select points, the geometry goes back to the unposed version. Is there a way to lock the pose so i can select vertices from a posed model?

Wow Daz, indeed, this is the way the skeleton system is. It is very correct albeit a very strange way for them to do their skeletons! It's certainly not intuitive at all to pose the model using the original skeleton but that's the way they do it! The elbows have two adjusters and one main joint, and piddling with them all it is possible to generate a nice pose. Not intuitive at all lmao.

On to the Xtreme Legends edition!
