Rez (Dreamcast / PlayStation 2)

Rez HD (Xbox 360)

Rez Infinite (PlayStation 4 / PlayStation VR)

It's nice to see this Dreamcast classic getting another HD treatment and finally for the current PlayStation console. Sucks that PS3 didn't get Rez HD, which was only on 360, but at least there is something that is better now. :mis:

Never was sold on the whole hype on VR gaming, but this game could definitely be the perfect fit for it, along with a blinging evolution of the infamous Trance Vibrator from the PS2 version of the game. No doubt it will be expensive and in limited quantity.

Interesting to note that Mizuguchi is working on this new version of the game from his new game studio due to parting ways with Q Entertainment a few years ago. Shame, because Child of Eden could easily be ported across for this as well. Then again, that brand new level they hinted at certainly has the modern graphic style of Child of Eden, so at least it's something. :pi:

Omake...

Rez' spiritual successor Child of Eden.

Area X looks pretty and all, but it is quite out of place since it's too graphical in terms of keeping the simple vector visual aesthetic to be consistent with the older levels. The look, effects and even the music is almost Child of Eden like.

Just a minor gripe really, but then when you have something completely new and added on over 15 years later, it can't be helped.

Rez as a VR experience should be very cool, but from what I've heard, the true Rez experience can be reached by using certain hallucination inducing "products"

Plus it's cheaper than buying a VR headset :P
