Re: Blender Cycles + XnaLara Tutorials
Actually the controversial Ivy costume was re-released by someone on TRF and we all know what happened to it. You can find it here. Most of the bones were renamed but not all. So I still would like to see Love2Raid's version as she is very meticulous about this stuff. I also found that that version on DA seems to have some weight issues on the right thumb C bone. You also have to reduce the size of this model (don't remember the ratio) to match all the other SCIV model releases.
Re: Blender Cycles + XnaLara Tutorials
Lol, yeah, Ivy. XD
Still got to finish that one. XD
But omg, having so much fun with this node stuff.
It's really badass, lol, in a way. You can do so many things with these nodes, really cool.
I will post my setup of a standard diffuse/normal/spec material soon, need to check if it actually looks good first, lol! I'm going to need your help with the skin shader, Vonny.

Re: Blender Cycles + XnaLara Tutorials
IIRC there are also nodes in 2.49, but of course not as good as cycles. Tried to render my Jin pose once with nodes (2 separate scenes) because AO was causing some weird darkening on his tattoo, but I eventually gave up and rendered without AO. I'm planning to buy a new, more powerful laptop early next year with lotsa space so I can render and extract stuff without having to worry about disc space.
Re: Blender Cycles + XnaLara Tutorials
I know, but it's different if you have to use them.
Oh, about that, yeah, it sucks that raytraced ao won't take transparency into account. All you have to do, is select the tattoo (or hair, or whatever causes the problem) then disable the 'traceable' button. That's it.

Re: Blender Cycles + XnaLara Tutorials
True, true, but I was just saying that it was already available in 2.49b. When I first used the latest versions of Blender and tried to render, I was like, "WTF? why does Jin have wrinkles?" LOL! Turns out like you said, the old way of adjusting normals, specs, etc. ain't there no more. I dunno, I think I'll try Cycles again once you don't have to manually assign the textures.
Oh ya, I believe I may have toggled that traceable button a few times and it didn't work for me for some reason. And yes, I made sure I selected that tattoo transparency and nothing else. I still have the blend file here somewhere, I'll try it again and see if it "fixes itself".

I think I might use Cycles again, but I hope my laptop doesn't die, it started heating up too much last time D: Should I try it? D:

Re: Blender Cycles + XnaLara Tutorials
Trying Cycles again, wanna ask tho, do you think this is too shiny? Looks like it.
How do I lower the shine? Im using the glossy shader you said Von
And the bumps look demented
EDIT; Saw the spec map part, gonna try it
EDIT2; Got this, look better?
EDIT3; Confoosed... what happened to her skin?
It went darker than supposed to =[
