Just a fair warning though, the Gmod/SFM crowd can be a tough crowd, especially if you go to FacePunch. Observation is the key to getting to know how certain forums work and I'm sure you know that. The XNALara/XPS crowd can be tough as well especially outside these boundaries, but for the most part it's mostly just a few young people working on models and more working on art here and on dA.

A big guess, but people usually seem to start with things like Source Filmmaker or Garry's Mod (through Steam platform usually), then learn programs that they need to use in order to get whatever they want into SFM/GM. Never been into that, so I don't want to misinform.

Thanks Ems. The only 'animation' I did was with Animation Shop used with Paint Shop Pro to create 2D animated gifs, etc.
