It's amazing how back in the days, game music consists of only cuts and blips... and now they've become far better than movie soundtracks!

Share music you like that you came across in games here! Lets have some fun! :high:

When it comes to pure videogame music, personally it's Japanese games that do it for me, ranging from retro chiptunes to synthesized or real orchestras to vocal music.

Couple of my personal examples to show off the range.

Streets of Rage 2 - The Expander - Yuzo Koshiro

Radiant Silvergun - Evasion (Game Version) - Hitoshi Sakimoto

Radiant Silvergun - Evasion (Arranged Version) - Hitoshi Sakimoto

Street Fighter EX - Precious Heart - Takayuki Aihara

NAMCOxCAPCOM - Theme of Sakura - Ayako Saso

Phantasy Star Online - Growl, from the depths of the earth - Hideaki Kobayashi

Soul Calibur III - If There Were Any Other Way - Junichi Nakatsuru

Gradius V - Impregnable Fortress - Hitoshi Sakimoto

Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Mix - Brilliant 2 U - Naoki Maeda

Beatmania IIDX16 Empress - Fly Above - Sota Fujimori

Warriors Orochi 3 - Vertical Node - MASA

Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Etro's Champion/Knight of the Goddess - Masashi Hamauzu

* Anything from the Tekken games except for that silly sheep stage in T6
* Anything from CV Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night
* SF Alpha and EX series

Silly sheep stage is hilarious.

When it comes to Tekken, I really like "Karma" from Tekken 6 and "Abyss of Time" from Tekken Tag 2. Akitaka Tohyama's Goa Trance-like style is quite catchy and it's the same for "BGM1" in Pac-Man DX CE which he also did.

Yeah Tecmo Koei's Musou series has great music and each series has a style that really seems to fit very well.

Dynasty Warriors = Rock music mixed with Chinese instruments. (The old theme/Lu Bu's is just too epic)
Samurai Warriors = Electronic/Techno with Japanese instruments.
Warriors Orochi = Tracks from both series plus it's own original stuff.
