The DICE-developed Star Wars game isnÔÇÖt a sequel to previous games in the series ÔÇô itÔÇÖs something new.

Speaking to Eurogamer, EA Games boss Patrick S├Âderlund said the new game is DICEÔÇÖs own take on the series.

ÔÇ£This is DICEÔÇÖs interpretation of what Battlefront should be. ThatÔÇÖs the best description you can have,ÔÇØ he said.

ÔÇ£There are absolutely things in the previous Battlefront games that youÔÇÖll recognise and remember, but DICE wants to put its own flavour on it. ThatÔÇÖs the only way we can do it.

ÔÇ£Hence itÔÇÖs called Star Wars: Battlefront, without a 3 at the end. We want to say itÔÇÖs something new. But again, itÔÇÖs going to be very Star Wars and very cool.ÔÇØ

ThatÔÇÖs just about everything we know so far, except that the executive has promised it wonÔÇÖt be a re-skinned Battlefield.
