Those .smd's don't work in Blender for me, I get the same error. I export them from Milkshape as .psk like rexil suggested... But if you can't even load the file in Milkshape, then that's a problem. :/
I have some issues with the Geisha model. rballad couldn't get that one with bones either, so I'm going to rig her myself (he sent me an .obj version too, thankfully).
