Oh cool, is it any fun after it went f2p? I've had a lot of bad luck with f2p games lately hahaha.

Considering former f2p people don't really complain over the forums, it can't be so bad. There are some limitations coming from f2p and early progression system (so called "new game experience") changed during the years (veteran players would say "dumbed down") - while I preferred the old experience, new player wouldn't tell a difference anyway - the game is pretty much the same. Shatterer world event got an overhaul, you can get to glide all over Tyria if you decide to get HoT and glider mastery ("masteries" are the new grind now, there's some core masteries, some HoT/raid/fractal exclusive, achievements shift towards "collections", especially legendary crafting).

I dunno if I'm really in a position to say what's fun too, since I'm a PvE scrub, what's fun for me is wander around and collecting skins. Been kicked out of my guild I've been almost 8 years with since the first GW game for getting a job, now I'm both job and guildless, so I don't get to experience raids or organized group events.

Yeah. During last three years, my latest GM despite guilds having a large rooster, pedantically started purging people inactive for longer than month, and for the rest he came up with a "checklist" of things you had to do monthly to get enough points to not get expelled.
At the time I was working hard to the point my neurologist diagnosed me with carpal tunnel in both hands and slight damage to elbow nerve roots, I couldn't play too much and meet the monthly quota, so I haven't bothered with them when I was thrown out without a single explanation or goodbyes even. It was a friendly pvx, 18+ years only guild at the start. Turned into something unpleasant.
