Yep, the "HD Generation" hasn't done the Japanese developers alot of favours since they had been struggling to adapt for a long time.
But in the case of Capcom though, oh how they have fallen. I mean sure, I still quite like some of their recent games, but even then you can still notice alot of flaws and with their business and design practices.
They've created such a good engine with MT Framework (Dragon's Dogma has certainly pushed it to the limits so far), and hopefully with their new Panta Rhei engine for Deep Down, they can get the same success. Now if they can efficiently use their own resources and stop outsourcing or whoring out their franchises to no-name Western developers, hopefully they can get back on track.
I mean it's only Dead Rising that seems to be successful on that part. They practically in one way or another, destroyed the Devil May Cry and Lost Planet franchises now. Even Resident Evil is just barely surviving too e.g. Operation Racoon City, good ideas, but WTF were they thinking with the developer choice.
