Request for porters: Ripped models

Hi again,
If anyone knows of the game Trine and Trine 2, you might recall the thief character. You also might recall that no one has successfully extracted models from either game, due to the custom model format.

On that matter, I was able to extract a number of models from those two games... using Ninja Ripper. I focused on extracting Zoya, the thief from both games.

That said, I have Zoya from both games in .OBJ format, and I am wondering if anyone would like to attempt to port them :)

They come with textures, just the diffuse, there were no others.

Neither version of Zoya is rigged, and the original version is somewhat low-poly, but still a fun model.

The Trine 2 version of Zoya has messed up UV mapping, but comes with textures, and is a bit higher-poly.

If someone with some skill at repairing/rigging models is interested, I would like to see Zoya released for the community... and maybe my rips can help with that :)

.obj format, lacking of proper normal and spec maps and messed-up UVs... sounds like a challenge for a porter god.

come on your a porter god, you should be able to do it with a breeze!! lol :lol:

so the maps need fixing and then rigging??

Only the Trine 2 model has messed up UV maps, the other one is fine... but yes, they both lack spec and normal maps, because they never had either in-game.

The "porting god" status is a self-abasing comment I put up because I was frustrated with my lack of ability, it isn't a boast.

Would either of you be interested in working on these two models?

I know they aren't all that cool, compared with some of the stuff released these days, but they would be an achievement to port, considering no one has ever even gotten models from these two games :)

Well you're right. They aren't that cool.

Besides... I'm a porting godawfulmess when it comes to custom rigging.

Well, guess that settles it then :(

I thought I could at least contribute ripped models for people to port, but apparently I'm not allowed to do even that :/

I honestly don't know why I even bother, anymore... -.-

I didn't beg to the admin, Pori, and I'm NOT a member of the Sticklove porter group.

In fact, I'm considering just stopping trying to port models for good... its not worth the hassle, or the social lashback when people get on my case about it.

I get no respect for the models I do successfully release, and the ones I have trouble with, no one has solutions for, or even any interest in helping me release them... so far only Alpha920 on Deviantart has been willing to assist me, and even he has run out of interest in my work.

I'm done, it's a simple as that.

Might as well close this thread, it got absolutely nowhere, and I'm not going to bother checking it anymore.
