Mario Kart series
Surprised there hasn't been a thread for these series of games.
Any way to start of, a new trailer showcasing some new and old courses for Mario Kart 8.
Some of the stadium and crowd graphics look nice, but once 1.06 kicked in .....
I remember how back in the day, a single lap on this track felt like forever, and of course, the infamous 50/50 risk shortcut at the beginning too. If that remains intact, damn I will want this game! The music remix is such a nice touch too.
Always was a huge fan of the various Rainbow Road's throughout the series.
And Mario Kart 7's rendition just screams an epic "I will fly and break through the entire cosmic universe and leave everything behind" kind of feeling.

Re: Mario Kart series
Well reviews of the game so far are very good indeed.
Now all I need is a WiiU.

Re: Mario Kart series
1.2 million over the weekend which is good news for Nintendo.
List chart here showing the total sales for the previous games.
And given how successful the Nintendo DS and Wii were, hori sheet their numbers in comparison. ....Bundle sales mostly likely add to the numbers.
Also from what I've played of this game so far, Rainbow Road 64 is limited to one lap, split into 3 checkpoint sections on online play. Sure, the track is notoriously long from MK64, but Nintendo? More are no more battle arenas.
The game sure is pretty and has some refinements, but why go backwards on some other areas.

Well they seem to be following a trend of removing what was introduced in the previous games in the next entry. For instance, Mission mode from MK DS, Team racing from Double Dash, etc.MisterHentai wrote: More are no more battle arenas.

No idea why they do it.
